In the past few years, the TILE center has targeted several important topics in science and designed a series of learning units. The objectives of these units are to help students formulate scientific questions, plan and carry out investigations, analyze and interpret data, reflect on the scientific processes and develop their inquiry abilities.
These units contextualize science learning in students’ daily life experiences, such as examining water quality in a local river, understanding the dispersion of air pollutants, and investigating the causes of seasons. Digital learning technologies are also used in these units to support students’ engagement in complex inquiry activities and their exploration of scientific phenomena.
